Photosynthesis in the Desert

So today for biology, I have to give one or more reasons that photosynthesis is challenging for plants in a desert environment.
Well, as you know plants need light, water, and soil. And in the desert, there’s barely any water, and it’s extremely hot, so water evaporates quickly, and it’s very dry.
So during the day, the plants close their stomata, which is small pores on the plants, to save water during the day. Then at night, they open their pores to take in the CO2(Carbon Dioxide), to complete the Calvin Cycle. They also lose less water than in the day, it’s basically killing 2 birds with one stone.

Plants need to complete the Calvin Cycle, which requires, CO2(Carbon Dioxide) and sunlight. In the plants, they have a specific carbon that holds the CO2 at night, then during the day, it’ll let it out, completing the Calvin Cycle with the sunlight.

This is how plants in the desert complete photosynthesis with barely any water. It’s pretty cool.
